The Nazi Party wanted to rid there Aryan kindred of Genetic disease and also wanted to breed out the genes that they perceived as non Aryan (i.e Indian and Oriental) The Nazis believed a long time ago that this supposedly pure Blonde haired, blue eyed, white skinned, Giant race had bred with the smaller darker people from the East. They perceived the reason why many Germans had darker features was because this once great race had mated with these darker races which had produced them down the line.
The Lebensborn program was designed to produce more genetically healthy Aryan children. It was basically a form of Eugenics. It was what they called racial hygiene. To use non married healthy Aryan woman and mate them with healthy often married Aryan men who were also often members of Hitlers SS.

Lebensborn actually means "Fount of Life"
Those who ran the Lebensborn Program had the following obligations:
1. Support racially, biologically and hereditarily valuable families with many children.
2. Place and care for racially, biologically and hereditarily valuable pregnant women, who, after thorough examination of their and the progenitor's families by the Race and Settlement Central Bureau of the SS, can be expected to produce equally valuable children.
3. Care for the children.
4. Care for the children's mothers.
Around 20,000 children were born to the Lebensborn program in Germany and Norway.
There was also kidnapping of Aryan children and then the giving of these children to SS families.
